nalla pattu..i love the song kaatrin mozhi...
the first song.. ya allah...
beautiful..and im glad tat i can share it with u all... life's got me thinking again abt everything.. greatful for everthing ive got..
here i have to tell u guys a story..
a true story and as u all noe (naan oru pollaatha story teller) try to bear with me..
i am helping out in the RC below to teach phonics to kids..
and there are two kids who can't read that well..
one of them has speaking disabilities.. its always a joy teaching them...
the girl with the reading disability was disheartened whenever she couldn't read..
one day..she refused to even utter a word...
i suppose that she was sick and tired of even trying...
after all the following week she had to read the very piece of paper...
whereelse everyone else would have progressed to another.
i sat next to her..
took the piece of paper and started reading it..
slowly..pointing at each word like she would and pronounced each word..
she still din't utter a word..
then i told her that we would play a game..we would read the alternate words..
ill read one..she'll read the other..
i read..
she din't..
i waited...
and waited..
finally she read..one word after another..
slowly..she uttered..trying her best..
she crawled onto my lap..
and started reading...the paper..
pausing at words she din't know...waiting for my prompting..
later that day she followed
me where ever went..
sitting on my lap as i tested the other children..
she mimced the others as they read out their paragraphs..
at the end of the day she was smiling... and so was i..
it was one of the most memorable moments..
i suppose it doesn't make any sense..
y i wanted to share this...
but u noe..
i suppose i understand her plight..
i too have difficulties pronouncing the quran..
everytime i used try reading and couldn't i used to cry..
it hurt that i couldn't read while others could..
how i had to try and try while for many it was so easy..
she taught me a lesson that day...
that nothing is worth giving up..
